What causes pain of the heart? A chaotic mind, or a path you’re unable to find. Or is it the uncertainty of whether it’s okay to aim beyond your line. Is it the attempted failures that you regret, Or is it the shame of the envy that made you upset. Is it the almost success that was snatched, Or is it the fear that the chemistry goes unmatched. Is it nervousness of change, or because all is simply deranged. Is it the fact that you’re only 20, or that you’re already 20. No control, no power. Or is it because the everyone else seems, To be the rain that easily showers. Is it the empty walls, Or the loneliness while managing the little falls. Is it that all the hardships feel unnecessary Or since now there is no sanctuary. Is it the tingling of the hand Or the tiredness of homing an unknown land. But what causes the pain of the heart? They say, it is simply blood that doesn’t flow; To the place where every beat seems to run the show.
