Echoes of a Broken Heart

I gave you my trust like a flame in my palm, You held it, then left — the silence wasn’t calm. You kissed me with lies dressed in sweet disguise, While I memorized truth in the depth of your eyes. Love wasn’t lost — it was carefully buried, Beneath moments we lived, now broken and hurried. I search in the dark for pieces of me, Scattered in places you promised to be. The nights ask questions the dawn can't explain, And my heart replies only with rain. Was I a chapter or merely a page? A pause in your story or a stage? Still, I walk — not forward, but through, Each step a goodbye to the version you knew. And in the ache, I begin to see — Even in loss, I am finding me.
